Dr. Syahrizal had extensive experiences in teaching and research activities related to epidemiology, reproductive health and quality improvement issues particularly in district health management. He developed a guideline, performance indicators and conducted a project evaluation related to implementation of TQM approach in districts, hospitals and education institutions. His knowledge and skills in human resources development, managerial behavior, transformation of organizational culture and customer satisfaction was comparable. He experienced also in the QA training for health services and had a long experienced supervising the graduate and postgraduate students for fieldwork in the community health center and the district health administration. His background as the Chairman of the National Board of Nahdlatul Ulama for health and population issues, Vice rector for academic affairs in University of NU Jakarta, Associate Dean in Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia, a former Autorized Principle Recipient global funds HIV Round – 9, member of CCM-GF-ATM and the chairman of the Health Services Institute, Health expert advisor for West Java Governor and Mimika – Papua District, as well as secretary of the national SARS Prevention, showed quality of his leadership. He had visit and voluntarily worked in Aceh, Nias, Central Java, West Sumatra and Magelang- Yogyakarta – Merapi and last in Lombok Island and Sulteng Province as coordinator/ advisor of the PBNU quick response team during the natural disaster.
