As the air pollution problem in many countries is getting worse, air pollution issue has become increasingly important. People want to know the specific data concerning air quality in daily life in order to have preventive action in advance, and even to control or improve the environment we live in. That is the reason which pushes us to develop our “Air Box”-- a PM2.5 detection device designed for the smart city to provide real-time monitoring of air quality.
AAEON and ASUS Cloud have collaborated to develop Air Box, which can detect and transmit important environmental information such as PM2.5, temperature, and humidity to the cloud-based IoT platform/website, effectively analyzing and tracing the air pollution sources, and collaborate with academic/medical institutions, such as cardiovascular disease centers, for further educational studies and research analysis.
The public awareness of the severe air pollution in our daily life is raising, the “YCC Air Box Deployment project”, which is joint effort by AAEON, ASUS Cloud, Chiayi County, Chiayi City and Yunlin county, has provided nearly 300 Air Box to deploy within cities to detect PM2.5, temperature, humidity, and other important environmental information. These environmental information will be transmitted to the ASUS Cloud IoT platform, and all data is open to the public, as well as research institutions to analyze sources of pollution. AAEON and Asus Cloud are also engaging in Maker community to provide Air Box Development Kit for those who are interested in developing value-added, innovative application. With the deployment of the Air Box, we can connect public health with big data analysis, and enhance the quality of life in smart city.
