This year's SCSE was held across Taipei and Kaohsiung, drawing nearly 160,000 visitors in total. The event saw enthusiastic participation from municipal delegations representing 53 countries and 174 cities, up 17% compared to the previous year, alongside more than 3,000 overseas business leaders. The overall scale reached an all-time high and underscored a defining theme: AI has become the digital backbone of urban development, continuously accelerating the adoption and real-world deployment of smart city applications.

This year's AI City Zone showcased the world's first AI City prototype spanning the full stack, from foundational computing power and platforms to real-world applications. The exhibit drew significant attention from city mayors and municipal leaders worldwide during the expo, receiving strong recognition as a compelling model for future urban development. Several cities also expressed interest in adopting the AI City framework and building sovereign city AI capabilities.

The expo also welcomed exhibitors from around the world who were energized by the strong demand on the show floor. Looking ahead, the organizers will continue refining the related solutions, bringing in more vendors to enrich the AI City ecosystem, and plan to unveil AI City 2.0 at next year's Smart City Summit & Expo!

The Smart City Summit and Expo serves as a leading platform for cross-industry collaboration in the smart city sector. In partnership with local and international organizations, the event offers customized experiences and valuable insights to attendees. Covering a wide range of industries including AI, IoT, Net Zero, transportation, buildings, healthcare, cybersecurity, startups, and more, we curate a variety of co-located events, allowing participants to explore focused, in-depth topics aligned with smart city development.

The 4th Net Zero City Expo brought together domestic and international enterprises and startups to showcase cutting-edge net zero technologies and solutions. Key exhibition zones included the Taiwan Net Zero Vision Pavilion, jointly presented by major government ministries; the Net Zero Industry Ecosystem Zone, highlighting green supply chain and smart manufacturing innovations; a Startup Zone featuring top accelerators from 13 countries; and an International Net Zero Pavilion, with Tokyo making its debut to showcase digital twin applications for urban climate resilience.

The world's first AI City Pavilion, led by TSSA, ASUS, and Foxconn alongside government, civic, and industry partners, offered a comprehensive look at AI City's 5 core layers and 4 urban application scenarios. Featuring nearly 60 AI products and solutions from 30 leading domestic and international companies spanning traffic, healthcare, security, infrastructure, governance, sustainability, and citizen services, the pavilion presented an integrated, sovereignty-focused AI City framework to help cities worldwide accelerate their transformation.

SCSE 2026 Smart Startups Program (SSP) achieved its largest scale to date, bringing together over 240 startups from around the world, with nearly 50% international teams, alongside more than 25 accelerators and ecosystem partners from 15 countries. The program further strengthened SCSE’s position as one of Asia’s leading smart city innovation and startup platforms, while creating valuable cross-border collaboration and business matching opportunities for startups and industry stakeholders.

Poland made a landmark debut at SCSE 2026 with its first-ever National Pavilion, representing six cities including Poznań, Gdynia, Gdańsk, Wrocław, Rzeszów, and Katowice. The pavilion opening drew high-profile guests including former Polish President Lech Wałęsa and two Secretaries of State, reflecting the significance of the occasion. The pavilion proved highly successful, facilitating dozens of meetings between Polish city governments and Taiwanese solution providers, while strengthening bilateral cooperation in the smart city sector and showcasing Poland's urban development strategies and investment potential to the international community.

Making its debut at this year's expo, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government brought together three prominent construction and real estate firms, Taisei Corporation, Tokyu Fudosan, and Mitsubishi Estate, to present their vision of a "2050 Resilient City." The showcase addressed urban challenges including earthquakes, flooding, and the increasingly severe heatwaves in recent years, featuring a digital twin system designed to simulate disaster response decision-making that drew considerable attention on the show floor
70 international forums drew over 14,000 registrations across topics ranging from consumer finance and startup ecosystems to industrial investment and national-level AI policy, signaling a transformative moment for Taiwan's industries on the global stage. AI and financial technology emerged as the most sought-after tracks, resonating strongly with both government and consumer audiences.

Centered on the theme of "AI-Driven Twin Transformation," the summit demonstrated how artificial intelligence can catalyze the synergy between digital innovation and net-zero transitions. By addressing pivotal driving forces—including sustainable industrial transformation, city climate resilience, and local revitalization—the event successfully convened over 100 global thought leaders, industry experts, and municipal executives. Attracting more than 600 enthusiastic participants, the summit surpassed mere knowledge exchange; it galvanized actionable international collaborations at the intersection of technology and governance, significantly strengthening collective global efforts toward smarter, net-zero city development.

This year we brought together leading global telecom operators, system integrators, and key AI computing players from the United States, Finland, the United Kingdom, Spain, Hong Kong, Japan, and Vietnam, all converging around the industry transformation opportunities emerging from 5G/6G evolution and the surge in edge computing demand. The forum generated strong resonance across government, industry, and academic leaders, fostering international supply chain dialogue that established a strategic platform for identifying opportunities and deepening collaboration in the era of open networks converged with AI, collectively advancing the integration and development of the global intelligent computing supply chain.

Under the theme AI-Driven Smart Cities and Global Business Opportunities, the conference focused on practical applications and collaborative models for digital and sustainable transformation, with an emphasis on real-world solution deployment and cross-border partnership development. The summit welcomed vendors from Indonesia, India, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia, and featured forums and panel discussions addressing the challenges of bringing AI technologies to market and scaling commercial applications. Combined with B2B matchmaking sessions, the event facilitated concrete and actionable partnerships among international participants.
SCSE is fully upgrading the matchmaking experience to create the most efficient international smart city matching platform. Attendees can expand their global networks among decision-makers from both government and business sectors across various industries. The platform continuously facilitates business collaboration through 1-on-1 matchmaking and customized group sessions.


This event connected 50+ vendors and 10+ city representatives across 15+ countries through 150+ sessions, proving that SCSE truly creates business that matters. With two pathways to connect, participants gain direct access to smart city solution providers, international buyers, city representatives, and industry leaders from 50+ countries, achieving a 78% post-event follow-up rate.
